CCOA Final Examination
The CCOA examination is the final requirement to complete the CCOA program.
Exam Details
- Format: Online and closed book
 - Questions: 100 multiple-choice questions
 - Time Limit: Two hours
 - Content: General knowledge and material from all nine course modules
 - Not proctored; can be completed from home
 
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to write the final exam, students must:
- Complete all module requirements for all nine modules.
 - Attend the CCOA workshop
 - Maintain employment with the sponsoring optometrist.
 
Grading and Certification
- The CCOA pass mark is 65%.
 - If the required grade is not achieved, students are allowed two rewrites within a specified time frame (fees apply).
 - Upon passing, a certificate will be available online.
 
Special Accommodations
Students may request special accommodations. To do so, email ccoa@opto.ca with the following:
- A formal request specifying the needed accommodations.
 - A letter from a qualified professional (e.g., physician, psychologist) that includes a diagnosis and recommended accommodations.
 
Requests must be submitted to CAO at least 10 days before the scheduled exam date.
