For over 40 years, Pierce Family Vision has been a pillar of the KW community. As a family-owned practice, we take pride in our long-standing patient relationships and high-tech diagnostic testing. Our office is newly renovated as of 2020 and boasts a bright, modern space designed for both patient comfort and staff efficiency.

Pierce Family Vision provides full eye exams, pediatric exams, emergency eye exams, contact lens management, post-cataract and post-LASIK care, and myopia and dry eye management.

The Role

As an Optometric Assistant, you are the heartbeat of the clinical flow. You will be responsible for guided patient care from the moment they walk in until they finish their exam. Your day-to-day can include:

  • Clinical Pre-testing: Operating high-tech equipment including Autorefractors, NCT (eye pressure), Optomap, MYAH and OCT imaging.
  • Patient Advocacy: Gathering medical histories and explaining the "why" behind our testing.
  • Contact Lens Coaching: Teaching new wearers how to safely insert and remove their lenses.
  • Front-of-House Support: Assisting with check-ins, insurance verification, and maintaining a pristine clinic environment.
  • Dispensing Glasses: Helping patient to choose glasses and frame that not only fit their budget and style but also their visual needs

Requirements

  • Has completed their education (High school or higher) and is seeking a permanent, full-time position
  • Has experience working in customer service. Eye care or a medical office is preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right personality!
  • Displays strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has strong organizational skills and is detail-oriented
  • Has an eye for frame fashion and can be transparent with patients in a thoughtful manner
  • Is proficient in verbal and written tasks
  • Basic computer proficiency (Electronic Health Records experience is a plus).
