Goals & Objectives of the Position:

  • Perform critical patient triage for ocular emergencies and inquiries
  • Administer advanced diagnostic testing, including OCT, retinal imaging, and visual fields
  • Assist with contact lens fittings and dry eye treatments
  • Assist with the optical, including custom frame styling and precision lens measurements
  • Educate patients on proper contact lens and eyewear care and maintenance
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records and referrals
  • Handle billing and insurance claims
  • Order contact lenses, glasses and supplies

Essential Abilities & Motivators:

  • Outgoing, caring personality who enjoys helping the doctor see patients to help them look their best and see clearly
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills
  • Ability to interact and work well with patients of all ages
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize based on urgency
  • High proficiency with EMR (electronic medical records) systems and digital clinical workflows is essential
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to triage patient needs effectively
  • Proven de-escalation and service recovery skills to ensure patient satisfaction
  • Front desk or customer service experience in a medical office or optical setting is desirable
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and eye anatomy is beneficial

Education:

  • College or University education (preferred)

Experience:

  • Prefer 5 years experience in an an optometry clinic and/or optical
  • Open to train the right motivated potential new team member especially with experience in hospitality or retail
