Full Time Optometrist Needed (New Grads Encouraged)
$50,000 SIGNING BONUS!
We are newer office (opened April 2021) looking for a full time Optometrist that is willing to relocate to the city of Medicine Hat. Our city of ~70 thousand people, includes both a younger and older demographic. We do offer a lot of room for outdoor activities, including golf courses, parks, and a river area with plenty of trails. We are ~3 hours from Calgary, and ~4.5 hours from Banff, with plenty of smaller and interesting towns/cities to visit. Our office includes one full time Optometrist and 3 exam lanes. We operate Monday through Saturday, with Thursday being open from 8am to 8pm (OD currently works from 11am to 7:30pm). Saturday’s we are open 9am to 2pm with our OD present every other Saturday from 9am to 1:30pm. We would be expecting our new hire to work the other 2 Saturdays as well as every other Monday our current OD is off. Normal operation hours are 8 to 5:30pm. Upon inquiry, we can further discuss schedules and time off.
We have a number of current equipment that includes both a Clarus and Cirrus OCT from Zeiss. We also have an Automated Perimetry machine, Autorefraction and NCT. A pre-tester will be available the days you are at the office.
Our clinic is a full dispensary using Zeiss lenses. We also train, fit and dispense contact lenses (we’re certified for myopia control, but at this time, do not fit other specialty lenses such as scleral or RGP lenses).
We are currently building a dry eye clinic with Radio Frequency equipment as our pilot project. We do also offer facial skin tightening as an adjunct to the dry eye clinic, with a staff member performing all various procedures (including dry eye treatments).
We are open to other areas of expansion, such as low vision, BV and VT. or specialty contact lenses if you are interested in pursuing these paths.
