Mr. Tony Jocko is a Federal Health Policy Analyst with the Union of Ontario Indians and has been a dedicated advocate for improved access to quality vision care services for the members of First Nations communities.
Through his great ability to bring people together, advocate for services, and raise awareness about the importance of healthy vision in learning to read, he has helped dozens of First Nations children improve their lives by helping them to reach their full vision and eye health potential.
In collaboration with the Vision Institute of Canada and the CAO, he helped in the development and distribution of culturally appropriate printed material about vision and eye health for First Nations children and for people living with diabetes.
The CAO Vision Champion Award was presented to Mr. Jocko on November 8, 2019 at the Vision Institute's Annual Fall Conference in Markham, Ontario.
