CAO is pleased to announce Mr. Eric Gionet as the winner of the 2020 Vision Champion Award, the only award presented to the general public (non-optometric community) that honours individuals or organizations for distinguished service to the eye health and vision care of all Canadians.
A lifelong resident of New Brunswick, Mr. Gionet had a distinguished 35-year career in the provincial public service. He has advocated extensively for optometric scope expansion in New Brunswick, positively positioning the role of the optometrist in health care delivery. He has also worked diligently to raise awareness of the role of the optometrist in the community.
