Role overview
Care Inc is seeking a patient‑focused Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care to a diverse population in Calgary. This position is ideal for either an experienced Optometrist or a new graduate who wants strong guaranteed pay, high upside earning potential, and flexibility in schedule.

Compensation structure
Minimum guarantee:

Full‑time: Guaranteed base of $140,000 per year (or equivalent daily minimum) for the first 12–24 months, so your income is predictable while your schedule builds.

Part‑time: Pro‑rated daily or annual minimum guarantee based on agreed schedule.

High production split:

Competitive percentage of professional fees and/or exam billings after the minimum guarantee, designed so high‑volume, efficient clinicians can exceed $200,000+ per year.

Clear, written compensation model provided before signing so you can see how your income scales with patient volume.

Relocation support:

Moving‑expense assistance for candidates relocating within Canada to Calgary.

Key responsibilities
Perform comprehensive eye examinations including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and ocular health evaluations.

Diagnose and manage refractive error and ocular disease (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye).

Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids tailored to individual needs.

Co‑manage medical eye conditions with other healthcare providers when appropriate.

Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options.

Collaborate with in‑house opticians, technicians, and administrative staff to deliver an efficient, positive patient experience.

Requirements
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree.

Current or eligible license to practice Optometry in Alberta.

Strong clinical skills in primary eye care and ocular disease management.

Excellent communication skills and a caring, professional chairside manner.

Comfortable working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Familiarity with modern diagnostic equipment and electronic records is an asset.
