Full Time Optometrist Needed (New Grads Encouraged)
$50,000 SIGNING BONUS!
We are looking for a full time Optometrist that is willing to relocate to the city of Medicine Hat. Our city is ~70 thousand people and includes both a younger and older demographic. One of the founding partners (licensed Optician) has 50 years of Optical experience and is very well known in the community, and as a result, has well-established patient base. Our office was fully renovated and opened in April 2021. Built to have 5-6 Exam lanes within over 5000 sq. ft office space. We currently have One Optometrist (part owner), and we operate Monday through Saturday, with Thursday being open from 8am to 8pm. Saturday’s we are open 9am to. Our new associate would be expected to work every other Saturday as well as every other Monday our current OD is off. Normal hours of operation are 8 to 5:30pm. Upon inquiry, we can further discuss schedules and time off.
Optometric equipment features Zeiss Clarus and Cirrus OCT. Also, an Automated Perimetry machine, Autorefraction and NCT. We are looking to expand with Virtual Visual Fields and I-Care Tonometry. A pre-tester will be available the days you are at the office.
Our clinic is a full dispensary using Zeiss lenses. We have a full finishing lab in our office. We also train, fit and dispense contact lenses (we’re certified for myopia control, but at this time, do not fit other specialty lenses such as scleral or RGP lenses).
We are currently developing a dry eye clinic with Radio Frequency equipment as our pilot project. We do also offer facial skin tightening as an adjunct to the dry eye clinic (including IPL), with a staff member performing all various procedures (including dry eye treatments).
We are open to other areas of expansion, such as low vision, BV and VT. or specialty contact lenses if you are interested in pursuing these paths.
Our business model is based on helping people first then the business follows proportionally.

Climate is great, as Medicine Hat is the sunniest city in Canada.
Spring weather typically arrives Mid-March with fall weather reaching to the end of October or further.
Golf courses usually open April 1 till the end of October.
House prices are extremely reasonable compared to larger cities. You can buy a more substantial house in Medicine Hat for $100,000 - $200,000 less than you can in bigger cities.
City of Medicine Hat has its own utilities resulting in very reasonable utility bills.
