Description: The role of store manager is pivotal to Oscar Wylee store performance. Store manager is expected to be motivated and passionate to lead and deliver exceptional customer service. The store manager is responsible for all operational aspects of the store, driving sales and overseeing all employees of their store. Oscar Wylee values long lasting customer relationships and wants to build customer loyalty, as such store manager’s responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:


Exceptional Customer Service

Apply and ensure all employees follow Oscar Wylee customer influence guideline principle
Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring customer interactions exceed their expectations at all times
Address customer issues and queries in an appropriate and timely manner
Recommend the most suitable glasses, styles, colours, lenses to customers
Understand and ability to communicate our product uses and benefits, warranty and refund policies
Follow up on outstanding customer orders
Store performance and operations

Reach and exceed sales targets for your store
Ensure store is operational at all times including adequate staffing and functionality of systems
Maintain store presentation, merchandising and cleanliness
Review timesheet, approve and investigate employee attendance for payroll
Operate POS with high degree of accuracy
Accurate cash handling
Investigate and resolve discrepancies on til balance and daily banking
End of day report and daily banking
Effective management of store inventory and stocktake
Review and follow up on delivery status and pending orders
Management / Compliance/ other

Manage store communication including EOD figures
Comply and ensure compliance with all workplace legislations and Oscar Wylee policies and procedures, as implemented, varied or replaced from time to time
Manage customer feedback and complaints in line with Oscar Wylee’s complaints handling policy & procedures

Transpose customer prescriptions without assistance
Competently dispense complex lenses and frames according to patient’s needs
Conduct all vision glasses collection, adjustment & troubleshoot without assistance
Thorough understanding of the anatomy of the eye and ability to discuss with patients/customers
Ability to confidently discuss the lens benefits and extras with browsers including the value of their pricing
Ability to explain the principles of High Index and Aspheric Lenses
Recommend the most suitable glasses, styles, colours, lenses to customers
Discuss Health Fund Claims confidently with patients/customers and explain why their specific Health Fund may not cover what they expect
Remake, adjust and repair frames for patients / customers
Follow up on outstanding customer orders


Previous experience in the optical industry
Minimum 2+ years management & leadership experience
Optical Dispensing qualification is highly desirable
The ability to influence, mentor, support and motivate your team
Excellent communication in both written and verbal forms
