I had no difficulty adjusting to the perscription because it was the same as my last. My vision felt sligtly off for a few hours while I adjusted to a new focal point. Last week my frames broke, a screw from the inside of the frames that was not able to be fixed. The company I bought my glasses from covers them with a warranty and replaced the frames for me. In the mean time, I used tape to hold my frames together, still had no difficulty with my vision. Just yesterday I left my old glasses at the company so they could transfer my lenses to the new frames. An hour later I picked them up and noticed right away that my vision was skewed. It felt as if certain parts of my vision were blurry. I assumed maybe they were dirty and had spots on them and figured when I got home I would clean them with glasses cleaner. I did that but still had difficulty seeing. I notice it especially when I am trying to focus, like when I watch TV or look at the computer, or even when I see street lights, car lights or regular house lights- it makes the light appear exaggerated. I noticed that when I turn my head about 20 degrees to the left I can see better head on. This is also the case when I turn to the right. My question is, why is my vision skewed? I was seeing fine until they transferred my lenses to the new frames. is it possible they put the lenses in the wrong sides? (My left eye is considerably worse then my right eye.)Or do my eyes just need to adjust to a new focal point? Please help.
Dr Joan Hansen's response:
Ashley,
It does sound as if your lenses were inserted either in opposite eyes or perhaps not quite straight in the frame. Please go back immediatley and have them checked.
